Renewable Heat Incentive
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme was set up to encourage the uptake of renewable energy generating systems in the UK. This in turn could help reduce the county's carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels.
The RHI scheme covers systems which generate renewable heat and pays the system owner an amount of money based on the size of installation. There are different tariffs for different technologies and different sizes of systems which are reviewed every 3 months.
- The tariff is payable every quarter for 7 years on domestic installations and 20 years on commercial
- Payments are Index Linked
- Payments are Tax Free for domestic installations
